A Parent Meeting about a New Requirement for all 3rd grade students will be held at MES on September 20th at 5:30 PM. Tennessee now requires all 3rd grade students to demonstrate proficiency on TCAP in English Language Arts.
Each student who has an adult attend this meeting will earn 15 minutes of extra FREE Play!
Below are suggestions to help your 3rd grader be proficient on TCAP in English Language Arts.
-Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep before coming to school.
-Make sure your child attends school every day.
-Make sure you know how to contact your child’s teacher (Class Dojo, Remind, email, phone etc.)
-Make sure you check the special designated folder for updates on your child’s progress.
-Make sure that you look at the literacy report that will be sent home in early October. This report will outline your child’s progress.
-Make sure that your child reads at home for at least twenty minutes each day.
-This suggestion is optional…..you can order decodables to practice the fluency lessons your child learned in second grade here: https://www.tn.gov/education/decodables.html
Parents and Teachers will TEAM together to make sure our students demonstrate proficiency on TCAP in English Language Arts.
Go Team!
